Rhaslas pond: hunting for mobile phone this am flushed a female shelduck from south east corner and just about managed a record shot. 1st record for Rhaslas but I've had a pair on passage at the Upper Neuadd in April 2012.

  2. Hi Martin, it went off south then it appeared to change its mind, possibly due to fog/mist and circled back towards north end of pond. I had the impression it wanted to sit the fog out but lost it over the tip to the north. They had 2 at Llangorse a few days ago that arrived from the north, I suspect they are moving south for the winter, maybe the bay.
