Rhaslas

Cream head through at c16:00 hours, still raining with mist, typical bad weather birding at Rhaslas. It did one hunting pass just south of dam; 'it was stop the car, grab camera, fire off 5 shots and it was gone', a minute later and I would have missed it. This morning singles of little ringed plover, dunlin and 1 other species that I couldn't id, very brief view, through water logged specs, in the driving rain and fog, but no waders present this pm, oh hum.

  2. But no longer a description species in Glamorgan since 2014, if I read the list correctly.

  4. Don't mention that, I'm in enough trouble as it is.

  5. Mike - Marsh Harrier is one of 3 species that the GRC have taken off the description list this year. Marsh Harrier, Snow Bunting and Velvet Scoter in West Glam only. This is because there have been 5+ records for these species in a given year. However, the GRC will ask for photos/notes for these and other species in necessary to do so. Marsh Harrier at Rhaslas - Good record for north Glamorgan, first site record for Rhaslas according to GBC/GRC database. DRWG

  6. Cheers Jake, didn't know marsh harrier had been taken off description list until I checked the GRC site last night. I think one of the Caerphilly rangers called marsh harrier in the area a few years ago, Geri probably has the details. Tidy
