Bill Jones

For those not yet aware, Geri has contacted me to say that Bill Jones has sadly passed away, aged just 60. Apparently, his death was sudden and unexpected. He was pleasant company on the occasion we moth trapped at Nelson bog and he was an excellent photographer. He will be much missed and my condolences go to his family.

  1. Thanks for sharing, Mark

I only met Bill a couple of times, but enjoyed his company, chatting about moths, dragonflies and birds.

    Sad news indeed.

    Regards

  3. I used to bump in to Bill around the reservoirs and occasionally at moth or bat nights but haven't seen him for a while. Always had time for a chat, he'll be missed, go in peace with sympathy for his family and friends.

  4. Hi,
Bill died 6th March 2017. It's such a shame that his website "dragonfly days" wasn't continued.
I used to accompany him on his outings as a child. If we had counted the hours we spent face down, supported by our elbows (the plank!) yogis would have been surprised.
Bill was my Uncle so thanks for all your kind wishes.
    Best wishes,
    Rob
