I found all this stuff in the stream below the Pyramidal Orchid site yesterday. It ran into the wheel wash and the two lower feeder ponds. It's worrying to think what affect it's having on the ponds and local wildlife and it looks like been going on for some time.
Wheel wash looks like a lake at the moment .

ReplyDeleteJust seen this, best you can do is contact NRW pollution hotline. best of luck. I contacted NRW recently about people walking through a Schedule 1 breeding site and I was told phone 101. Recent conversations with eco professionals recently suggests that the general consensus is that we've got about 5 years before much of the wildlife laws, environment reg's etc are dumped. I better stop now I'll be labelled an enemy of the people.
ReplyDeleteMark got in touch and looks a bit like building waste from gas tanks and will go back up in a week or two to see if gone and will check ponds for pondife.
ReplyDeleteThere was some nasty stuff on that site including a small tank farm, I remember xylene being present. But RCT has not published demolition protocol, if they bothered to produce one, for the site. I see that RCT planning portal has an application for a proposed Caravan and Camping site there, but no details, just that RPS are the agent. You could try contacting RCT ecologist, best of luck.
