I was hoping the stiff north wind would bring some passage birds down, but just a single dunlin with a common sandpiper on a very fresh mudless Rhaslas morning. Last nights grass fire was just to the north of Jepsons Pond.
Unfortunately. the rain didn't arrive until around five this morning: seven hours late. If it had arrived on time, the fire wouldn't have got so far. Typically, the weather forecasters got it wrong again.
I thought it was in that area, Mike.
ReplyDeleteSpot on, it travelled a good distance east, close to where we've had drumming snipe, hopefully they and other spp are not on eggs.
