When I saw Martin's images I remember Mark pointing Hair Ice out to me when we used to survey Merthyr/Abernant tunnel for hibernating moths and bats. Quite a few specimens today noted east of tunnel along disused track to the Cyfarthfa Crossing (Parish Road east). Beware of motorcycles, several trees have been felled, amateur signage erected and the "We are not doing any harm brigade" have struck again!
nice to see you got some mike and out and about mate and how are the berries looking over there
ReplyDeleteRe: berries, not as much as we had back in new years day 2005 I'm afraid. At southern end of town just the primary school and the courtyard of Buckland flats with some scraps on Avenue de Clichey. I'll check Cyfarthfa Park when its safe to leave the street. It looks like Phil's garden is the best bet this year, if you can afford the cakes.
ReplyDeletei got three tree by tesco with still berries and the yelllow ones, so fingers crossed and i think phil eat all is apples this here or give them away pmsl
ReplyDeleteOi Bevan, they were cooking apples and I only gave two lots away this year and one of those were to Mike. My Rowan berries have been eaten by the Blackbirds.
ReplyDeleteMike if you still got cake left I'll be over to help you out.
That's not hair ice, that's all that is left of Santa after the scramblers have run him down!
