Good or Bad Sighting

I went for a walk around Tirfounder this morning hoping to hear or see any new warblers especially Grasshopper and Sedges. No sight or sound of any.
I did however see a Mink, the first I've seen in about 10 years.  Not sure if I'm pleased or not, I don't wish them any harm but they are not native and can leave a trial of destruction behind them.

  1. I don't get over Tirfounder that often, but when I do, I often see Mink, Phil, especially over by the river. Martin is always lucky enough to see Otter, but I've never seen them there. The presence of Mink is probably the cause of the disappearance of Water Vole from there.

  2. The mink was on the Cynon by the concrete wall below the Ynys Fields.

  3. That's where I usually see it. They have a holt (if that's the right name for a mink's nest) in the opposite bank. They are beautiful animals, so it is such a pity they are so destructive.
