The interesting thing about Wood Warblers for me is that they can almost disappear once paired up. Certainly at low densities my experience is the males stop singing fairly quickly, although the call is often a give-away when close to the chosen nest location. I had the pleasure of watching a female Wood Warbler nest building a couple of days ago, while the male stayed silent the whole time (5+ mins) and neither did he help with the nest building.
If only photos could have a sound track!
ReplyDeleteIt didn't sing, unfortunately
ReplyDeleteNice shot Martin
ReplyDeleteExcellent, I'm afraid I'm still looking up this end.
