Shit tick.

Lots of dropping at site A , but no birds seen. I did have two Common Snipe and a Kestel. There was a farmer up there with a dog and he was making a lot of noise rounding up is Sheep.I will try again in two months.

  1. No Hen Harrier either I guess, though sightings to the east at Garnlyddan a few days ago, so hopefully they'll turn up soon. I'll check site B next weekend after Rhaslas.

  3. I forgot to mention there is a very visual playful young otter about. Its been seen quite a lot lately feeding on signal crayfish and in a tug of war with an angler, they ended up with half each apparently.

  5. The rangers believe its last years offspring because it appears to know the place like the back of its hand. Sightings; lower spillway pool, merthyr bank between dam and burger van eating signals, stealing fish on merthyr bank between off road car park and last lay-by going north. Also good pics taken from bird hide and fresh spraints north west corner rocks RCT side. I'd try the bird hide or opposite bank dawn/dusk, beware the lorry driver in red body stocking and sling-backs.
