Evening Drive up Cwm Cadlan and too see if there was Wheatear present and sadly no sign yet and there was a flock of about thirty Fieldfare on the Cadlan and a small flock of Redwing on the Voil also half a dozen Peacocks, it felt like India again especially with the Sun like this. I found a Glove and i don't know way but I thought of a certain person, pmsl. Last of all I went through the Hirwaun Industrial Estate, the Jack Snipe site has gone and was shocked too see a big building on there already and I mean the bit in front on Penderyn Reservoir. Also was wondering if this is the closest I come to Bittern this year it is the wall painting from Kenfig, it's a great painting and brightings it up and just a shame it's not open for the loo on times.
I passed you in Penderyn when you were driving up.
ReplyDeleteIt really annoys me when they build on a field like that when there is so many places where buildings once stood that they could have used.
I'll give you glove Bevan, mind you up there after dark you are more likely to find size 10 sling backs. See you, confined to the house at the moment.

ReplyDeleteYears ago, when my father was driving the council bus picking up the workers on the estate, he used to have his break by that field and often saw Lapwings and chicks there. The people doing the ecological survey on the site and surrounding woodland, recorded Wood White in the wooded bit between the field and the res. I don't know the date of the survey but reckon they mistook a distant female Orange Tip for Wood White.
ReplyDeleteYes that wood be a turn up for the books and i seen lapwing on there a couple of times and curlew and did i see you at the bavostocks old hotel today
