Melanistic grey, I can't wait to see it dry with the sun on it.

    Looks more like dark Reef heron than Purple to me .

    Your the 2nd person to say that, the closest I can find online is an oiled grey on Fair Isle in 2011.

    Dark phase Reef Heron went through my mind as well, it's an interesting lookinmg bird
